Rheona Severson
Program Supervisor
Rheona returns to the SSI Sailing Club for a 2nd year as Program Supervisor.Rheona's love of the water brought her to BC from the Prairies over 10 years ago. She first joined the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club Crew Circle on Wednesday nights, gaining experience racing on large boats and eventually M242s. Her racing experience includes Whidbey Island, Swiftsure, Southern Straits and various local regattas.
Moving to SSI allowed Rheona to continue to follow her passion for the water. Besides racing at the club, she has been an active member of the SSI Power Squadron and Coast Guard Auxiliary. Rheona’s second love is educating. She has taught Boating Safety in the schools, performed numerous Boating Safety Checks, and helped out with new crewmembers on boats. Rheona has her CYA Intermediate Cruising Standard, Marine
Advanced First Aid, Radio Operators Certificate (DSC), and PCOC. She looks forward to an active, fun filled summer, working with the Sailing School. Rheona hopes to impart small words of wisdom, and help out wherever needed.
