We are not having much luck with the wind this year. At the 0930 skippers meeting a
slight wind from the North prompted us to maintain the 1000 start. In retrospect this was
a mistake. At 1000 we had a flat calm and soon after the lightest of wind from the South.
The short course was Welbury and home if no one was past Welbury by 1200. At about
1145 it looked as if ELECTRA and FANDANGO would fight it out for first round the spar
but then FINAL DASH found a puff and had this honor. At about 1200 the wind did pick
up a little but from the North leaving those of us who had positioned our selves basis the
South east wind in a fair spot of bother.
A pleasant sail to Second Sister but again the wind went fickle and much of the fleet was
bunched at this point. QUESTO, ELECTRA and FANDANGO broke free first with the
rest of us in hot pursuit but to no avail.
The below results are basis time on time.
