ROUND
PREVOST , MARCH 7TH 2004
We had 10 boats out today which is quite a victory considering that there was lots of rain
overnight and it was still raining at 0830. The forecast was for lots of wind, but this
proved not to be the case. A few good gusts but mainly the wind was below 18 knots
from the South East.
In anticipation of a goodly wind a few of us elected to leave Prevost to port. This was a
mistake; most of the fleet had little difficulty with the ebb tide in Captain Passage and
little difficulty in Swanson Channel. Final Dash, Fandango, Alacrity and Questo had a
tough time getting to the south end of Prevost but enjoyed a good spinnaker run to
Captain passage. It was not good enough to hold the lead boats that were at Second
Sister while the mentioned boats were strung out between Welbury and Nose Point. The
exception was Final Dash who did well on the back part of the course and took line
honors.
Results, scored time on distance.
