Last evening the 8th June saw five boats at the starting line on an evening that had a reasonable wind but was promising rain. The beat down the harbour was lead by FANDANGO until FINAL DASH got into her stride near Second Sister. The weather mark was Batt Rock and the flood had started. WESTWIND and ALACRITY crossed tacks a number of times while FANDANGO closed the shore looking for the counter current and ran out of wind. In the broad reach to Welbury Spar, FINAL DASH stretched out an already commanding lead while ALACRITY, WESTWIND and FANDANGO rounded Batt Rock in close formation. Derek Emmerson single-handing ORACLE was manfully working his way round the course but the light wind was not conducive to NFS.

Spinnakers were up after Batt Rock and were gybed at Welbury Spar. We were all able to hold onto the spinnaker for the reach to Second Sister then a dead run to the line. ALACRITY was able to pull ahead a little while WESTWIND and FANDANGO had  close sailing all the way. Results, time on time.
