Sailpast 2007

The race was certainly better than I expected given the wind in the morning. At the post race party in ARBITRAGE (what a lovely boat) I calculated preliminary results and gave them out to much merriment. I immediately realised those results were not accurate because I had not included the adjustment for No Flying Sails, except for on TINKER and EFFERVESENCE, who are assumed in our tables to always be NFS. In addition, I entered the completely wrong time for EFFERVESENCE, and got them winning the race. Wishful thinking on my part, as they did not do quite that well.

Below are the corrected results. Please note that I was able to get myself and crew Brian to win, which of course is the main benefit of being Fleet Captain. Unfortunately, the race has no trophy associated with it.......

I would like to acknowledge Rick on LONE RANGER, who, despite having not hauled his boat in 4 years, was able to nurse the boat around the course for one of two laps. Well done, as I suspect you may have been dragging quite a load with you.

I would also like to Welcome Patrice and Nicole to our races with their boat KLAATHEM, a very pretty Beneteau.
