Channel Island Race May 31, 2009
Hi All,
It appears I forgot to send out the results of the Channel Isles race. I had meant to write a report but never got around to it. Sufficient to say we had some strange and very changeable winds which Caliente made the best use of with only three boats finishing - Caliente, Fandango and Oasis. David Wood fired an initial salvo in a quest for the 2009 Broken Tiller award by drifting effortlessly and of course stylishly onto the rocks at the Chanel Isles. Thankfully, a passing power boat rendered assistance and kedged him off before the tide went out.
