Once again, the RCMSAR Unit 25 on Salt Spring Island (our local Marine Search and Rescue unit) is organizing vessel safety checks for our Club members. The annual voluntary vessel safety checks are planned for Saturday, April 19 starting at 10:00 a.m.
Fire extinguisher checks will begin at 11:00 a.m. Replacement 5 lb. fire extinguishers will be available from the Salt Spring Fire Protection agent for $65 for anyone knowing in advance that theirs is expired.
Members wanting to reserve a check time please email the Safety Officers at safety@saltspringsailing.ca by April 1st. The Officers will return email with a time slot suggestion for that day.
