How to Navigate Tides and Tidal Passages Along the BC Coast

To cruise north from Saltspring one inevitably has to transit through a Pass – where safe passage depends on careful timing. The further north one goes beyond the Gulf of Georgia, finding safe passage becomes even more of a challenge, all as a result of tidal flows.
This short seminar will refresh our knowledge of tides and currents. Using three group exercises with published materials, we will endeavour to improve one’s ability to safely get to “the other side”.
