The Commodore is Seeking a Carver!
Commodore Roy has a project that needs someone with some interest and skills in wood carving. As you know, we have had a donation to the Club of two old carved wooden bookends of the HMS Ganges (photo below). Roy wants to try and replicate several sets of these, so he needs to talk to someone who knows about doing this and who might want to take it on. If you have interest in, knowledge of, or expertise in carving such items, please contact Roy: commodore@saltspringsailing.ca or 778-353-1540. (Note: the CNC or 3-D printer route is also being considered as a way of replicating these items, so if you have expertise or knowledge in this area, please chime in with Roy as well.)
