McMillan Trophy Race, January 28, 2024
Six crews navigated the fog to the skippers’ meeting, where it was decided to postpone the start 30 minutes in hope of better wind and better visibility. It was also decided to shorten the course to Batt Rock and back, in hope of improving the odds of completing the course without getting run down by marine traffic.
Four crews navigated the fog to the starting line in 3 knots of wind.
Three crews navigated the fog to Batt Rock in 5-8 knots of wind, led by Sorcery X with a well-functioning GPS chart plotter.
Two crews navigated the fog back to the finish line, with Sorcery X returning first and Pocoloco returning 15 minutes later.
As far as we know, everyone made it safely home.
