The SISC junior racing program is celebrating the arrival of a new Opti racing boat.
The boat was purchased by the Round Saltspring Race through the efforts of Paul Faget – Fleet Captain Racing and Round Saltspring Race Director and John Tulip – Round Saltspring Race Chair.
The new Opti is ready for racing and comes from the Opti Nationals that were held at the West Vancouver Yacht Club at the end of August.
This brings the total number of club Optis to 12, and is a great addition to the packed Opti-class sailing school camps throughout the summer.
The junior team has already taken it out for race practice at Salt Spring, and it will be put to the test this weekend – September 23-24 – at the RVYC Fall Dinghies regatta with 4 other Optis.
