I am thrilled to report that the Round Saltspring Race was a resounding success, and want to take a moment to express my gratitude to each and every one of our member volunteers. Your support and dedication played a crucial role in making this event a positive experience for our participants and I couldn’t be more appreciative.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the remarkable efforts of over 150 club members who volunteered their time and energy to ensure the smooth operation of the race. From warmly greeting sailors and efficiently organizing slip assignments on the docks to taking charge of various tasks on the grounds, such as setting up, preparing food, cooking, serving, and cleaning up, your hard work and commitment were truly commendable. I also want to express my gratitude for your involvement in race committee activities, organizing signs, designing and sourcing T-shirts, working with sponsors, coordinating the band and sound system, building the stage, managing prizes, creating club notices, signage, and banners, capturing precious moments through photography, overseeing registration and websites, making breakfasts and coffee, running the welcome desk, handling shopping responsibilities, orchestrating the silent auction and ticketing, managing the bar, ensuring proper waste disposal, and diligently tidying up after the event. Your contributions were invaluable and ensured the success of the overall event.
To everyone who contributed their time and energy – well done!
Your dedication and collaborative efforts created an unforgettable experience and ensured our event remains a highly regarded, destination regatta along the coast. I am sincerely grateful for your outstanding work.
Sail on with pride and joy!
Warmest regards,
John Tulip, Race Chair
